Anganwadi Chalo Abhiyan and Bal Swachhta Karyakram will be carried out from November 1 to 19 to eradicate malnutrition in the State. This was informed by Women and Child Development Minister Maya Singh here on Thursday.
She urged public representatives, anganwadi workers, Poshan Mitras and society to extend active cooperation in this drive.
The Minister said that next target of the State Government will be eradication of malnutrition from every nook and corner of the State.
She said that State Government will be able to develop a well nourished Madhya Pradesh if all people extend support and cooperation to it unitedly.
During the drive, those children and lactating mothers will be brought to anganwadis who could not avail benefits of schemes till date.
Besides, such atmosphere will be created in anganwadi centres where women and children do not feel uncomfortable. Importance and need of anganwadi centres and benefits given there will be widely publicised.
Qualitative improvement will be brought about in services sponsored by State Government. Information will be given about vaccines administered to children and lactating mothers and vaccines will be administered to left out children and lactating mothers.
In letters to all district, Janpad and Gram Panchayats, the Women and Child Development Minister said that Gram Poshan Tadarth Samitis have been formed in every village.
These committees should play active role to ensure that Panchayat representatives visit anganwadis and motivate community. She said that Panchayat representatives should also monitor timings of opening and closing and other activities of anganwadis as well as services rendered
by them.
She further said that Bal Swachhta Karyakram will also be run at anganwadi centres. During the drive, mothers will be informed about personal, public and child hygiene. She said that it is an important initiative of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to make Madhya Pradesh healthy, safe and sanitised.
