Irked over failure to transfer his wife, who is lT (licence in Teaching) teacher in Government Inter College Chamba of Tehri District, to a 'suitable' place, Pratapnagar MlA Vikram Singh Negi has threatened to raise this issue in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha session.

He alleged that the education officer is not implementing Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna’s recommendation. Negi said that he would meet the Vidhan Sabha Speaker in the Assembly in the coming session and along with Congress MlAs and Opposition party MlAs, he would expose several senior officers of various departments whose wives are working in Dehradun.

The Pratapnagar MlA met the school education additional director NK Bahuguna on Thursday and expressed anguish at failure to transfer his wife to a suitable place in Dehradun district from Government Inter College, Chamba, Tehri. According to him, the CM had recently recommended transfer of his wife to Dehradun without delay. The department officers have failed to implement CM’s recommendation so far. Earlier, he had personally met the Education Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani requesting transfer of his wife.

He had also met the Principal Secretary, Education.  Despite receiving assurances from political executives and bureaucrats, his wife has not been transferred to Dehradun. Negi said that his wife S Negi had sustained spinal injury in a recent accident. Section 29(1) of Uttarakhand Teacher Transfer Policy 2013 implemented by the education department does not cover slip disc patients.

Not only this, transfer based on request by teachers under the policy also does not cover such patients. Sources in the education department said that his wife had sustained a minor spinal injuries. Despite this, MlA wants his wife to be transferred to Dehradun from Tehri.
