Worried over the failure of the Commissionerate Police in tracing the missing Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) officer Ibrahim Sharif even two months after his mysterious missing, his wife on Thursday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the case.
“Two months have already elapsed into the missing of my husband. Despite my full cooperation to the police, they are still clueless. Hence, the case should be handed over to the CBI considering that my husband is a Class I officer,” Ibrahim’s wife Salma Parveen Begum told mediapersons here.
She also urged the State Government, especially Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, to take up the case seriously.
Revealing that the Facebook account of her husband has been accessed and its password changed on December 24 last year, Salma said, “There may be possibility that someone has changed the password by forcefully extracting the details from my husband so as to misguide the investigation and to create an impression that there is a personal or family angle to his disappearance and suppress the real motive behind his abduction. It is necessary to track the IP address of PC that was used to make changes in the Facebook account.”
