Miscreants decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs1.5 lakh and Rs1 lakh in cash from Piplani area on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
According to police, the victim Karuna had gone to her parents’ house in Sagar on October 24 after her father’s death and requested her neighbours to take care of her house but when she returned on Thursday morning, she found the house was burgled.
She immediately approached police and lodged a complaint with the Piplani Police and after preliminary investigation a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC was registered and the police started further investigation.
In the complaint, the victim has claimed that Rs1 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs1.5 lakh were missing.
Police said the victim is a house wife while her husband works for a transport company. Few days ago victim’s mother had died in Sagar and she along with her family had gone to Sagar and when she returned on Thursday morning she found that the locks were broken and on entering the house she found that the valuables were missing.
She told the police that she had provided her neighbours with the keys of the house for taking care and providing the keys to the domestic help but when they returned the valuables were missing and the locks were found broken.
Statements of the domestic help and neighbours are yet to be recorded which could help in the investigation, said the police.
Other valuables were not disturbed by the miscreants which raises suspicion that the miscreants were aware of the location of the valuables.
