PWD and In-charge Minister of Korba district Rajesh Munat dedicated ‘Siyan Sadan’ constructed by the Korba Municipal Corporation (KMC) at a cost of Rs 76.32 lakh.
Through ‘Siyan Sadan’, now aged people will get an integrated place for study, exercise, discussions etc, where they could exchange their views and hold discussions with each other.
Similarly, a month back, Chief Minister Raman Singh had dedicated an all-facility store with a seating arrangement for 2,000 devotees on the Ma Sarvamangala Mandir premises.
The Corporation has completed new works to provide community facilities in the slums and other settlements in its 58 wards. 120 community halls and 180 public stages, platforms and shed etc have been constructed under the corporation limits. It has also constructed school buildings, Aanganbadi buildings and sub health centre buildings.
To ensure poor drinking water to the residents of the area, the Corporation has installed 387 power pumps, dug 2,270 tube wells and hand pumps and extended the pipelines. To provide basic facilities.
The Corporation has also made street light arrangements on about 8,000 electric poles on the main roads, approach roads, residential and business complexes and slum areas, besides installing high mast lights at different sports grounds, Dussehra grounds, bus stands etc.
It has completed other works such as door-to-door waste collection from residential complexes and colonies at different wards, collection of bio waste under user charge, transportation work, arrangement for disposal of medical wastes from nursing homes and other government and private hospitals, construction of dumping yard for solid waste management and disposal.
