The Administrator’s Advisory Council (AAC) meeting will be held on Monday, June 30. Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Shivraj Patil will chair the meeting where the draft of UT Master Plan — Vision 2031 will be discussed. A copy of Draft Master Plan & Report of Board of Inquiry and Hearing was circulated to all the council members for deliberations and to give their considered suggestions on the draft Master Plan during the last AAC meet. The previous AAC meeting was held ten days back on June 19 where it was decided to consult the adjoining State Governments of Punjab and Haryana before finalisation of Chandigarh Master Plan. A request would also be made by UT to the State Governments for making adequate provision of infrastructure in neighbouring towns. Following heated exchange of words with UT Administrator, three BJP leaders, including Chandigarh BJP president Sanjay Tandon, former city MP Satya Pal Jain and District President, Bhajan Singh Maru had walked out of last Council’s meeting.
