A 22-year old MBBS student allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a running train at 11.30 pm at laksar Railway crossing, Haridwar on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Vishwajeet, a native of Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh). He was pursuing MBBS from Meerut based medical college, said laksar GRP in-charge Dinesh Kumar on Thursday.
Police was informed about a body lying along the Railway tracks at 11 30 pm on Wednesday. No injury was found on the body, but the head was severed. Family was informed about the incident and the body was sent for postmortem, he added. However, the deceased’s family members sounded suspicious of foul play, and met a senior Haridwar police officer and sought thorough inquiry into the incident.
