Man's leg re-implanted at Chirayu hospital

The medical experts in Chirayu Hospital on Thursday successfully re-implanted a separated leg of a patient. This important operation was performed at the Chirayu Hospital Bhainsa Khedi, Bhopal. Plastic surgeon Dr Prashant Nema and his team successfully operated a separated leg of a patient and return back him to normal. This patient will be walk like normal person very soon.

While talking to The Pioneer, Dr Nema told that it was a rare surgery performed successfully in the State capital. The man Suraj Singh (name changed) of Bareli was brought to the hospital in critical condition around two weeks ago. His left leg was cut away from above the ankle by somebody with a sharp-edged weapon. It was a complicated surgery in which microscope and other state of art equipments were used.

Dr Nema further informed that it took around 15 hours to complete this surgery. After this long and complicated surgery, the patient’s leg was re-implanted successfully.

The team that performed the surgery comprised Dr AK Chaturvedi, Orthopedic surgeon Dr Galfat, Dr Nadkarni and head of anesthesia department Dr Aasudani. “Though patient will take some time to get completely normal and after that he will walk again like any other normal man,” said Dr Nema.
