The body of a man in the age group of 30-35 years was found floating on Monday evening in the Upper lake under Koh-e-Fiza police station area.
According to the police, on Monday evening locals spotted the body floating in the lake and informed the police. On the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and after preliminary investigation sent the body for the post-mortem examination.
The identity of the decease is yet to be identified and police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Police said that the body is around 3-4 days old. After the post mortem report is received reason of death could be provided. At the moment it could be ascertained that the victim was killed or it was a suicide.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old girl died and four family members including two children sustained serious injuries after their motorbike was hit by a speeding vehicle at Kokta square under Bilkharia police station area on Sunday.
According to the police the victim’s motorbike was hit while the victim was on her way to Salakanpur with her brother and sister-in-law on Sunday morning.
The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where she was died during treatment while others escaped with minor injuries were discharged later.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPOC and have started further investigation.
In the initial investigation it was found that the motorbike was hit by a speeding harvester but the registration number could be found said police.
