Man found dead under suspicious circumstance

The body of a 50-year old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Dillod village under Gunga police station area on Sunday evening. The body bore sharp-edged weapon injury marks in the back side of the head.

According to the police, Uma Shankar Bhargava’s family members spotted him in the field at around 7 pm and immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

Initially when the body was found, after preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered and further investigations were started.

SHO of Gunga police station Sujeet Tiwari told that the victim used to leave for his farms at around 8 am and returned at around 12 in the noon but when he did not return on Sunday, his family members started searching for him and found him at around 7 pm near a water canal.

Injury on the backside of head was found which suggested that the victim was murdered. However, no other injuries were visible on other body parts. In the initial investigation as the post-mortem was not conducted the details of the death were not confirmed. Statements of the family members are yet to be recorded which would help in revealing the reason behind the death, he added.

Providing further details few suspects have been rounded up and the main accused would be nabbed soon as the investigation are on. After the post mortem was conducted on Monday the police have registered a case.
