With the construction of 3-km road from Makadi-Khuna to Sidesar village of Kanker Development Block, thousands of villagers got 12-month transportation facility and relief from muddy road during the monsoon season.
Residents of Makadi, Matwada, Turakhar and nearby villages had to travel on an uneven road to reach Sidesar and the main road at Makadi.Sidesar Sarpanch Surekha Hichami, along with some villagers attended the Chief Minister Jandarshan programme held in Raipur in June 2012 and through a memorandum, urged Chief Minister Raman Singh for the construction of Makadi-Sidesar road.
Considering their demand seriously, the Chief Minister accorded sanction for the construction of the road under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana. On the directives of the Chief Minister, Kanker district panchayat has constructed the road.Sarpanch Surekha Hichami said that thousands of villagers of Sidesar area have been benefited from the road. Weekly market is held at Sidesar every Tuesday, in which people from many surrounding villages reach there to purchase household items. Before construction of the road, people had to face various difficulties in reaching the market, she added.
Similarly, with the construction of the road, children from nearby villages of Makadi, Matwada lal, Turakhar etc, studying in Sidesar Higher Secondary School got much relief in attending their school.Residents of Sidesar, 37-year-old Suresh Kumar Dugga, 45-year-old Ramesh Nishad and 42-year-old Sonuram Uike said that earlier they had to face many problems because of bad road conditions.
With the construction of the road, along with educational and economic activities, the villagers can save their time also. People’s representatives and villagers of village panchayat Bagodar, Makadi, Kongera, Godpur and nearby village panchayats expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Chief Minister Raman Singh for fulfilling their long pending demand.
