On the Wednesday night the torrential rains and hail storms brought the farmers to tears. The teams of Government staff reached the farms to estimate the extent of loss. The crops of mustard, gram and wheat were badly affected.
On the orders of the collector the teams of revenue inspectors and Patwaris have come out of their offices even on the Shivratri holiday and according to initial enquiry more than 50 per cent crop has been damaged.
Every farm has been affected by the hailstorm. The rains started from 4 pm on Wednesday and continued till 10 pm. In this time 69.9 mm rain has been registered.
In the month of January to 27 February 134.4 mm rain was recorded. In the month of February alone 81.1 mm rains was registered. The district collector Gwalior P Narhari said that crops have been definitely damaged by rains and hailstorms.
We have received much information from Wednesday evening. The teams of Patwaris
and revenue inspectors have been sent to confirm the information and estimate the loss from today morning.
The actual loss would be estimated after on their return. Similarly even in Pahargarh district Morena area the crops pulses etc have been highly damaged due to rains and hail storms.
According to the weather department today and tomorrow again hail storm and rains take place.
The rain in the whole state would be in equal ratio but the hailstorms would be unequal to place to place. The hailstorms took place in Pahargrah area last evening for 10 minutes while rains took place for one hour damaging the crops to a great extend.
The teams of revenue department have left for rural areas to estimate the loss. The crops of mustered, pulses and oil seeds would damage the most. Harvendra Singh of whether department Morena said that according to scanty rains with hail storms can take place in next 24 hours. The ratio of rains would be newly equal in whole of the state.
