Majithia dares Bajwa to contest from Gurdaspur

Friday, 28 February 2014 | PNS | Hoshiarpur

Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Thursday dared the State Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa to contest ensuing lok Sabha election to check his political credibility in his home district — Gurdaspur.

“Rahul Gandhi by running from his projection as prime ministerial candidate and Bajwa from his own Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency have proved that Congress is a fast sinking boat,” said Majithia while addressing a gathering after inaugurating Rs97 lakh sub-tehsil office and patwar workstation.

He said that Congress party’s senior leadership was fully aware from imminent drubbing in ensuing lok Sabha elections and were now taking Rajya Sabha route to reach Delhi.

“The same Congress party, which often clean sweeps the lok Sabha elections and remained in power about 55 years since the country got freedom 65 years ago, is now struggling to touch half century mark,” said Majithia while also challenging the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Santosh Chaudhary, who was representing Hoshiarpur lok Sabha constituency, to name a single project she got approved for state or her own constituency.

Cong asks Majithia to offer himself for probe into drug racket

Chandigarh: Condemning the political overtones of Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia for finding excuses to bail him out of drug racket, the State Congress on Thursday stated that his sins would find him out on day, despite offering thousand justifications.

Reacting to Majithia’s statement that Enforcement Directorate was working under Congress pressure to involve him in the drug racket, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) vice-presidents Tarlochan Singh, Randeep Singh Nabha, Surinder Pal Singh Sibia and Col CD Singh Kamboj said that he was scared of fair investigation and his acts of omission and commission have started bothering Badal family which has been so far shielding him due to his close relationship with them.

They stated that Majithia was making ridiculous statements that PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa was behind instigating drug lord Jagdish Bhola to name him (Majithia) and Enforcement Directorate was working on Congress plan.

“Bajwa has already offered to hold CBI inquiry against Congress leaders including himself and any other member of Cabinet in Congress Government from 2002 to 2007… If Majithia is innocent, he should himself offer for an investigation to show some sense of responsibility and morality,” they added.
