The 67th All India Commerce Conference (AICC) of the Indian Commerce Association (ICA) concluded at the KIIT University on Monday.
Addressing the valedictory function Governor Dr SC Jamir said fruits of development and growth should reach the grassroots level of the society. “The intellectuals and academicians have a vital role to reach the benefits of development and growth at the grassroots level of the society. India has grown in various sectors. But the people at the grassroots are not getting its benefits. We should bring these people into financial inclusion and make them financial literate. Government and Reserve Bank of India have taken many steps in this regard,” Dr Jamir said.
“The intellectuals and academicians, especially the commerce and management academicians, faculties and students should play a vital role in this regard,” he said. Utkal University VC Dr AK Das said, “Our job would be to transform discoveries into innovations. Commerce holds the key to conversion of discoveries into innovations. Social responsibilities should be aligned in a coherent manner to help humanity at the grassroots level.”
Among others, Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta, ICA working vice-president Prof PT Chaudhury and general secretary Prof B Singh and conference secretary Prof Jayanta Kumar Parida and organising secretary Prof Sasmitarani Samanta spoke.
