The programme ‘Kunwar Narain Prasang’ being organised under the Vagarth wing of literature and Poetry, Bharat Bhavan aims to focus on the lifestyle and the writings by a renowned Hindi poet Kunwar Narain. Under the event various renowned poets and scholars are invited to throw light on the writings and personality of Kunwar Narain.
The programme began here from Wednesday and would continue till Friday. The programme began with airing the recording of poetry recital by Kunwar Narain on Wednesday. Further, two biographical documentaries based on his lifestyle and journey were also screened on the same day. The programme was followed with a lecture by Nandkishore Acharya.
On the second day of the programme, a discussion session was held on the theme ‘The Poetries of Kunwar Narain.’ The discussion was divided into two sessions; the first session would be addressed by Abhishek Sharma, Krishna Mohan, leeladhar Jagudi and Ramesh Dave. Under this session, the poets threw light on the style of writing and the use of poetic language and rhythmical lyrics in the poetries of Kunwar Narain.
Besides, the relation of his poetries with contemporary writing was also discussed on the second day. Further the second session would be addressed by Dilip Khushwaha, Tarun Bhatnagar, Udyyan Vajpayi and Krishna Mohan Jha. The session would be headed by a noted author Vijay Bahadur Singh. later, the programme would be followed with a poets meet.
Notably, Kunwar Narain is a poet and a presence in Indian literature, often regarded as the leading living poet in Hindi. He is among the few intellectuals who combine an international modern sensibility with grounding in their country’s cultural and imaginative history. linked to the New Poetry movement, he publishes selectively and is characteristically polite. Influences on him have been diverse, from the Indian epics and Upanishads.
