The main attraction of the performances at the International Odishi Dance Festival-2014 being held at the Rabindra Mandap was a captivating solo Abhinaya Sundari..! Heli ki Sandihana re…” by New Delhi-based renowned dancer Kasturi Pattanaik, credited with original creations.
The Abhinaya is authored by the noted Odia poet Pandit Gadadhar Singh Samanta and was choreographed by Kasturi Pattanaik herself. The Abhinaya demonstrated Pattanaik’s complete command over the art of expression. It showcased the endless emotional and spiritual love between Krishna, the love legend of all times, and his supreme devotee Radha. Kasturi Pattanaik through her magnificent expressions depicted the boundless bonding between lord Krishna and Radha and their unique unending celestial love to the applause of the audience.
The music to the Abhinaya, based on Raag Misra Pahadi and Taal Ektali, has been composed by Pattanaik herself.
