The Kalinga Hospital ltd here took a slew of week-long initiatives to prevent tobacco and alcohol use and promote healthy diets and physical activity among children and youths to mark the World Heart Day on Monday.
As part of this initiative, the hospital held free cardiac screening camps and awareness talk-shows at the IOCl, Paradip and at l&T, Kansbahal on September 24 and 26, respectively.
Similarly, a free screening programme was organised for the hospital’s employees and their dependants in the hospital premises here from September 25 to 29. Besides, an awareness talk show was organised for the children of the Sai International School on Monday.
Around 200 employees of the hospital and 115 others took out an awareness walkathon from the Damana Square to the Kalinga Hospital. Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi inaugurate the programme as chief guest. Kalinga Hospital Dr RK Padhi attended the occasion as guest of honour. leaflets and handouts containing cardiac health tips were also distributed among general people on behalf of the hospital.
