Meeting Governor SC Jamir at the Raj Bhawan here on Thursday, a four-member team of the Deprived Retired Government Employees’ Parishad (DRGEP) led by its president Kailash Chandra Choudhury submitted a memorandum to him seeking consideration of their legitimate demands.
While nearly 25 States have implemented the decision of increasing the retirement age limit of Government employees from 58 to 60 years long back, the Odisha Government did it only in June this year, rued the DRGEP members. This has triggered discontent among the Government employees, who retired during January-May 2014.
The body demanded that like its Andhra Pradesh counterpart, the Odisha Government make reappointment of the employees who have retired during the period of January 31 to May 31, 2014. DRGEP secretary lingaraj Mohanty and members Natha Behera and Debendra Chhotray were part of the delegation.
