Beat-I-Fic, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore organised a Talent Hunt, in association with VlCC, for the youngsters to showcase their unique talent before the audience. The final round of the event was held here on Sunday, with 10 teams making it till the end.
The hunt started about two weeks ago wherein the participants were asked to submit their videos. The top ten participants were picked based of their skill and interest of the audience. The videos were extremely diverse and artistic, covering not just established art forms like music and dance forms but also unconventional ones like nail art and magic shows.
Each art form covered various genres leaving the audience absolutely amazed. The drummers, singers, guitarists, and other musicians explored different forms of music, right from the Blues of the Western music to Bollywood. The dancers captivated the entire institute with dance forms ranging from Country Swing to Kathak. The judges for the event were Piyush Sharma, Idrak Qureshi and Professor Siddharth Rastogi. Piyush is a freelancer and a graduate in electronic media. He is a film maker by profession. He was associated with the production of some very popular shows like ‘MasterChef India’ and ‘India's got Talent’. Idrak Qureshi is a dramatist and writer. Rastogi on the other hand, is an Economics chair of the Institute. He is a lover of art and is also a poetry enthusiast.
The winners of the event were Pragya Pathak and Rimjhim Mathur. They performed a Kathak act portraying the eternal saga of Krishna and Meera. The winners used classical forms of dance to mesmerise the members of the audience. One of the organisers, Prastish Singh commented, “I have never before been interested in classical forms of dance; however this performance changed my outlook.”
