Indian Institute of Management Indore in association with Purnamal Sons and Ceramix Syndicate organised an interactive session with Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO Airtel MPCG. The talk was organised under a new speaker series– Insight, by the IPM Industrial Interface Unit.
Talking about the challenges and opportunities in the telecom sector, Negi went on to explain the operations of Airtel. He spoke about the telecom landscape, data consumption, and data revolution in India. The talk focussed on how evolving customer expectations grew along with evolving products and services, he told his audience about the journey and growth of Airtel since 1996.
The latter half of his speech was highly motivating and spoke of transformational leaders. He pointed out the traits of a leader. He spoke at length on planning careers. Weighing values and vision, he encouraged his audience to respect their ambitions and missions.
The session was followed by an interaction where students raised questions. Bijoy Roy Chowdhury, an IPM-1 student asked the speaker about the challenges faced working in different economies with different mind-sets, existing competition, and government policies. Negi was quick to point out Airtel’s values and customers servicing belief that make it successful at any market.
The talk was attended by about 200 students from different courses of the Institute. One of the students at the event said “It was highly interactive session, the speaker with his vast experience answered doubts with lot of clarity”.
With his inspirational stories and speech and an engaging audience, it was a highly enlightening interactive session.
