Veteran Congress leader Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu’s daughter Cinderella Balmuchu, a 26-year-old doctor, feels blessed to be chosen for representing Ghatsila constituency on behalf of the national party for the Assembly polls. The young medico has no political record despite being born and brought up in a ‘Congress atmosphere’. This is her first step in politics.
Now, that she is into this field, her priorities differ for villages and town. “I have always observed my father. He sacrificed his life for the sake of people. Even, I am determined to follow the same path. During my recent campaigns, I found that the requirements of rural and urban mass vary. Villages need to be connected with towns through proper roads and power supply. Similarly, education and health problems should be addressed in urban areas,” said the young contestant.
Cinderella seems to be proud of being born and brought up in a Congress family. Moreover, she admires the Gandhi family. Asked the reason, she said, “I am born with the Congress Blood and proud of it. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are my inspirations. It is because of them I got the golden chance of contesting elections though I do not have a personal political experience. I am obliged to them. They have high hopes from me which I promise to fulfil with 100 per cent dedication.”
Unlike, most of the Indian politicians, Cinderella possesses a graduate degree in medical sciences and aims to utilise it for society’s betterment. “In Jharkhand the political scenario has not much to do with educational qualifications. However, I will try to utilise my medical knowledge physically and socially for the well being of my people. It might bear fruits of development in some sectors,” she said.
On her opinion about ‘women’, Cinderella denotes them ‘Best Managers’ as they can handle the ambience at home and outside home easily. “There is a need to encourage more number of women in politics. People should see that the ones who are into politics and contesting the polls belong to well-respected families,” she said.
Balmuchu is guiding his daughter wherever required. He is not giving any tips but making it sure to stand beside Cinderella when she seeks his presence. “The support of a father for his daughter cannot be defined in words. It is felt,” maintained Cinderella.
