Whenever I give a performance I play with my soul,” says renowned violinist, Anupriya Deotale. Anupriya is acknowledged as one of the most noted classical violin artists. She visited Bhopal here on Sunday to perform in a musical concert organised by Bharat Bhawan, under Aas Paas series of music and dance.
In a small rendezvous with The Pioneer, Anupriya shares about her voyage as a magnificent artist after she gave a mesmerising performance at Atarang Hall, Bharat Bhawan. She has a unique style of her own as she plays the violin. “I was very small when I realised my love for classical music. As my father was a writer and an author I had the opportunity to learn about literature and art and as my knowledge grew, my passion to learn more also grew with it.”
Elaborating further about her love in music and violin, she said, “I started taking classical vocal training and along with it I took violin classes too. I discovered my interest for music and then I decided to be a violinist.” She is a disciple of legendary Sarangi maestro Pandit Ramnarayan and has also received guidance from the great Sarod Maestros Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Pandit Mukesh Sharma.
She brings innovations in her compositions on the lines of fusion in which she blends the elements of Gayaki and Tantarakari-instrumental rhythmic patterns. She has created an enviable niche for herself in the field of fusion music and has worked with the musicians from across the world. Anupriya is the first Indian musician to receive the prestigious Ustad Salamat Ali and Nazakat Ali Khan award at lahore, Pakistan and to be recorded for a programme by the Pakistan Television.
She said that she always loved to sing for charitable costs and to pay tribute to people. “Few years ago I performed at Bharat Bhavan for a noble cause and I had my second show after a long time again in the city at Shaheed Bhavan.”
About her compositions, Anupriya says, “I want the world to live in peace and harmony like a well knit orchestra where different instruments are in harmony with each other and create beautiful music.” Elaborating further, she said, “I want to spread the message of love all over the world through my music. I want to make the world a beautiful place like the art.”
