Under the nation-wide ‘Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan’, several cleanliness programmes were held in different parts of Raipur division on Monday.
In Raipur district, area around hand pumps, lanes and public places in Raikheda Gram Panchayat of Tilda block, Mandir Hasaud Gram Panchayat of Aarang block, Keshla Gram Panchayat of Tilda block and village Murthi of Dharsiva block were cleaned with public participation.
In these villages, villagers took pledge of maintaining cleanliness around sources of drinking-water, avoiding piling up of garbage and keeping the surroundings clean.
In village Raikheda, people were advised to use dustbins for disposal of garbage and were also suggested to make manure out of accumulated garbage. Moreover, pamphlets were distributed to people in these villages for creating awareness.
In Dhamtari district of Raipur Division, Collector Bheem Singh convened a meeting of Sarpanch-Secretaries in Janpad Panchayat Headquarters Nagri and directed to ensure active public participation in ‘Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan.’ He said that public representatives will be awarded for their excellent contribution in this campaign.The Collector suggested that all the public places, lanes, Midday meal kitchens, Aanganbadi centres, PDS ration shops, public toilets, water reservoirs etc should be cleaned regularly. Public representatives, school students and villagers of Gram Panchayat loharsi of the same district organisd a rally to create public awareness about hygiene.
