Health services hit as staff boycott work

The medical and health services were affected after health workers boycotted the services across the State on Thursday.

The agitators cleared that they are in the mood of decisives this time and will withdraw their agitation only after their yearlong pending demands would be fulfilled by the State Government. Meanwhile, the agitation by the Class-IV employees continued on Thursday and caused inconvenience to patients in the district hospitals across the State.

The agitated health workers under the banner of Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Association started their indefinite agitation on Thursday and shouted anti department slogans at medical and health directorate on Thursday. They lamented that memorandum highlighting their demands was submitted to department officials but steps are yet to be taken by the department for redressing the grievances of the agitators.

After expressing his concern over the callous approach of the State Government for not redressing the grievances of workers, Sunil Kumar Singh, general secretary of the Association said that regularisation and equal work-equal pay is the only two year long pending demands of association. He cleared that the agitators will withdraw their agitation only after their year long pending demands of association would be fulfilled by the State Government.

Gagan luthra, patron, Ranveer, secretary, Vijay Kumar, vice-president, Saneep Dabral, Deepak Mamgain, Suhil Chamoli, DK Gupta, Sonam, Soni and many more were present. Meanwhile, the agitated Class-IV employees under the banner of Class-IV State Employees Union boycotted the medical services for three hours on Thursday thus caused huge inconvenience to the patients in the district hospitals and health centres.

Although the delegation of the union met State Health Minister Surendra Singh Negi on Thursday but the agitators have decided to continue their agitation till their demands are fulfilled by the state government in the given time frame. While speaking to The Pioneer, Nelson Kumar Arora, District President, Class-IV State Employees Union said that risk, food, traveling allowance etc. and timely promotion of the Class-IV etc. are the among the few demands of union.

He cleared that the agitators will withdraw their agitation only after their year long pending demands would be fulfilled. Arora said that the union has also decided to intensify their agitation if their demands are not met by the department in the given time frame. Manvar Singh Negi, Guru Prasad Godiyal Malti Bisht, Sanjay Pal, Dinesh Gusain, Shampal, Anil Kumar, Surendra, Subhash, Sunil Wadia, Naveen Sharma, etc. were also present.
