It is a gift of Deepawali and Chhath for the denizens of Hazaribagh from Union Government. The PM has given us back the training centres of Central excise, customs and income tax departments. It was the first reaction of ex-MP of Hazaribagh Yashwant Sinha while sharing the information with media persons.
On Tuesday 28th October evening the central revenue secretary gave this information to Yashwant Sinha and Jayant Sinha by making a call to them. Delighted Sinha said that that call gave me such a joyous feeling which rarely comes in anybody’s life.
Recalling 2005 Sinha said that the then UPA government had transferred these training centers from Hazaribagh to some other cities of the country. The people of Hazaribagh had taken it as a vindictive decision and at that time under my leadership more than hundreds spent two weeks time in judicial custody for agitating against the government.
The training centers for class I officers of income tax department and class II officers of central excise and customs department were established in Hazaribagh in 2001. As the finance minister of the country it was a gift to the people of his constituency by MP Yashwant Sinha.
It was the phase when the picture of both Hazaribagh and Ramgarh towns changed very fast. After start of these training institutes, demand of good hotels, restaurants, transport system, houses etc. had increased and with the inflow of more money in local market, the area started progressing rapidly. It was the time when NTPC and some other private big houses had started settling here.
In 2004 the NDA government led by PM AB Vajpayee lost the parliamentary election and Yashwant Sinha also lost from Hazaribagh. UPA government came under the leadership of Manmohan Singh and within a year it started taking away the causes of progress of Hazaribagh and Ramgarh. The training institutes were the first to be snatched by UPA government from Hazaribagh.
After being reelected in 2009 Yashwant Sinha started efforts to bring back all those things which were snatched from Hazaribagh constituency during his absence in lok Sabha. In his five year term he successfully brought back the rail link project on track and NTPC’s Super Thermal Power Project. This time his son Jayant is in lok Sabha representing Hazaribagh constituency and he too worked hard to finish the task of bringing back the training centers to Hazaribagh, started by his father Yashwant Sinha during his previous term.
