A hardcore insurgent who was wanted in connection with several incidents while being on the run for past four years was arrested in Kondagaon district. A permanent warrant was issued for his arrest, police said on Wednesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Surjit Atri informed that the arrested insurgent was identified as Dhansingh alias Boda alias Modam (40) resident of Kudur Taraipara under the limits of Mardapal police station.Police had received inputs that he was visiting Matval village and was staying in house of one of his relatives. Acting on the information, a police team swung into action and rounded up the insurgent from the village after conducting a raid.
Atri further informed that Dhansingh had joined Naxal cadre in 2010 and was involved in looting of ballot boxes and polling material during panchayat polls in Mardapal area. District court Jagdalpur had issued a warrant on his name in this connection, the ASP said.
