Every possible effort is being made by the Central and State Governments for the welfare of ex-servicemen. It is our duty to donate liberally to the Sainik Kalyan Nidhi on the occasion of the Flag Day to repay servicemen’s debt due on us. This was stated by Governor Ram Naresh Yadav while addressing the 15th meeting of the Amalgamated Special Fund (ASF) of the Sainik Kalyan Directorate on Saturday.
Expressing happiness over the active role of the State’s residents, especially youths and students in fund collection, the Governor underscored the need for increased participation of youths in it. Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa, Principal Secretary to Governor Vinod Semwal, Principal Secretary Home BP Singh, Secretary Finance Manish Rastogi and members of societies were present on the occasion.
Governor Yadav said, “The brave soldiers are guarding the borders of the country leaving everything behind. It is due to their bravery that we are leading peaceful life. It is our duty to donate for their families’ welfare, progress and honour. It is a pious work. Participation of all people of the country in it not only enhances the prestige of country, state and society, but also boosts soldier’s morale.”
Congratulating the divisional commissioners, district collectors and other officers for exceeding the target of fund collection, the Governor hoped that they would continue such efforts in future also.
During a review of the ongoing works in Ujjain Sainik Vishram Grah, Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa directed that its approach road should be constructed by the district administration and remaining works by Sainik Kalyan Board.
At the meeting, collectors of 21 districts were felicitated for exceeding collection target. The awardees included Narmad-
apuram and Jabalpur divisions, Seoni, Neemuch, Betul, Singrauli, Katni, Mandla, Harda, Mandsaur, Chhindwara, Narsin-ghpur, Shahdol, Hoshangabad, Balaghat, Khargone, Burhanpur, Jabalpur, Raisen, Damoh, Tikamgarh, Indore and Sehore districts and 14 ex-servicemen’s welfare societies.
