'Govt uses its power only to loot'

Sunday, 30 November 2014 | SN SINHA | KODERMA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promises of bringing back the good days, or getting rid of black money and inflation have gone in vain, said Jaharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) supremo Babulal Marandi attacking hard on the BJP in an election meeting at Satganwan on Saturday.

Marandi on Saturday said electoral alliance was not a priority for his party as it was a political compulsion for those who failed to deliver during their tenure in power and therefore his party has decided to go alone in the polls."Any alliance — whether pre-poll or post-poll — is also not our priority as it is a political compulsion for those who failed to deliver during their tenure in power," the former Chief Minister told, addressing the gathering.

"However, we are functioning in a democratic set-up and party never reject such options outright and the party will consider such proposal when it would come," Marandi said.

He said criminal activities and extremism were on the rise and the Government is still not seen pursuing any developmental works. The Government has looted the State during its short tenure, corruption too is one of the burning issues in the State.

He hit hard on the Government, pointing out that “agriculture has been neglected in the past by those who in power. People of the State are traditionally involved in agriculture but now reports have said that they find it difficult to earn their living and are forced to do other stuff. He appealed the people to vote in favor of his party’s candidate Bhim Sahu to make  a fear, hunger and corruption-free State.

Bhim Sahu, the candidate, said: “The development works on the ground in this area and even in the State were done by party head and first Chief Minister Babulal Marandi. “If our party comes in power, problems like electricity, water, roads, education, health, drinking water, irrigation and other local issues will be solved on a priority basis,” he added.

Shalini Gupta Domchanch Pramukh slammed sitting MlA  and said, “Koderma district and is yet underdeveloped only due to the sitting MlA. She never thought and focused on development works.”Bedu Saw, district president, Sunil Yadav and other party officials and workers were also present at the meeting.
