Highlighting the need for coordinated efforts among departments like medical health, Peyjal Nigam, Municipal Corporations/ Council, Panchayats, district administration and social organisations for fighting the menace of dengue, the Health, Family Welfare, Science and Technology Minister Surendra Singh Negi suggested that a working plan for dengue should be prepared.
Negi was addressing a review meeting of health department officials at the conference hall Vidhan Sabha here on Monday. He said that the aim of the State Government is to provide medical facility to each and every person residing in the villages. Negi said that the Government is planning to organise two or three comprehensive health camps in every block of state and for this help of private clinics and hospitals would be taken. He claimed that many private hospitals are prepared to be part of the Government plans to orgainse health camps in the remote areas.
The Minister said that the Government is planning to increase the amount provided under Vyadhi Nidhi Yojna from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakhs. Under this scheme the below poverty line patients are provided financial help for treatment in selected hospitals. He said that a request is being sent to Union Health minister to increase the central assistance in this scheme from present 33 percent to 50 percent. Taking strong exception on the reports of absence of doctors employed under bond in the remote areas Negi said that the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) should send a weekly attendance report of these doctors to the Director General Health services.
The Minister said that all the pending cases of officers/ employees of department should be disposed off and employees posted at the nursing colleges and ANM training centres should be called back to their parent departments. The meeting was attended by principal secretary, Health, Om Prakash, Additional secretary medical health Dr Nidhi Pandey, Director General Medical health Dr G S Joshi and other senior officers.
