lakshya Camp – a ONGC sponsored Free Value Education camp organised by Vasudev Kutumb in association with Scientific Council of Educational Research and Training (SECRT) was held from December 26 to December 30, 2014 at ONGC Community centre, Kaulagarh Road, Dehradun.

Around 560 children’s from different schools participated in the camp with full zeal and enthusiasm. Value education enables children to understand and develop character by learning about values and virtues. It is a training of the heart and mind towards good.The camp was inaugurated by SG Bhargava, GM-Head Corporate Administration, ONGC, in presence of Gaur, Co-ordinator SCERT, Dr SK Sheel, Former Add. Dir SCERT and other dignitaries.In a five day long camp Kamlesh Upadhyay, Addl. SP, Dehradun told the importance of Value System to the kids and Dr Anoop Kaushal, ENT Spec. increased the morale of the kids by giving the some thought provoking lecture with examples. Susheel ji “Bharamkumari” told that value education concentrated on transformation of the individual into higher plain of inner refinement and growth.  Shela Bejnath the founder of Astha trust shared her valuable experiences towards the motto of the camp with the childrens.

In the valedictory function Zharna Kamdan, Addl. DM (Admn) informed the childrens about value education and its importance in day to day life. She also shared some of her experiences to boost the morale of the kids. Apart from the lectures many other activities were also carried out during the five day camp viz meditation, Prayayam and Yoga, visit to ONGC museum and rig at IDT, old age home, Cheshire home, film show and quiz. The camp consisted of around 560 children from 37 Government schools which are approved by SECRT and are devoid of such type of education. Vasudeva Kutumb is also planning to conduct such type of camp in June 2015 for the benefit of the children’s of our society
