In a shocking and unprecedented move by the two brothers — Rahul Kumar (22) and Rohit Kumar (23) — in order to take revenge for their father's murder, trapped the killer after making friendship on Facebook through a fake ID in the name of a girl and pumped in five bullets inside his body.
The two brothers with the help of a friend Gunish Arora first did intensive recce of the deceased’s activities and finally trapped him near ‘Café Coffee Day’ at Purulia Road on June 20 and killed him. All the three accused have been arrested.
“Three students have been arrested in connection with the murder of Kundan Kumar, who got killed after being befriended on Facebook through a fake ID in the name of a girl,” said Ranchi SSP Prabhat Kumar addressing the media on Sunday. Kundan had allegedly killed Arvind Singh, father of the two brothers, in 2010 following the two brothers decided to take revenge from him, said the SSP.
Kundan was brutally killed by the two brothers from point blind range on the evening of June 20 in lalpur area after which the police came into action and formed a team under the City SP Anup Birthare to investigate into the incident. The police have recovered one 9 mm and a country made pistol along with the mobile phone and motorbike used in the killing have been recovered from their possession. The SSP said that Kundan was a named accused in the murder of Arvind Singh who had also confessed about this. The two brothers prepared the whole plot to kill him in order to take revenge of his father’s murder, he added. “According to the boys, the idea proved to be a success for their plot as Kundan, having a strained marital life easily got into their trap and started following the fake ID on the Facebook,” SSP said.
The brothers had been trying to kill Kundan and failed twice in their attempts through different ways. “Earlier also an attempt to kill Kundan was made by Rahul and Rohit along with Neeraj and Santosh in 2012 following which an FIR number 471/12 was registered at Doranda Police Station,” he added. later again, they tried to get him killed by professional shooters brought from Bihar, who also were caught by the police initiating FIR number 361/13 at Sadar Police Station, he added.
