Collector and District Electoral Officer Ashok Agrawal has issued directives to members of the Standing Committee for eansuring that candidates contesting in the lok Sabha polls strictly follow the model code of conduct.
Addressing the Standing Commitee members at the meeting at the District Collectorate here which was also attended by the representatives of various political parties, Agrawal said that the poll symbols had already been allotted to the candidates.
He said that as per the Election Commission rules, a candidate could incur a maximum poll expenditure of Rs 70 lakh.The poll expenditure of the candidates would be monitored by authorized officers and observers, Agrawal said.
The Collector asked the candidates to provide proper account of the poll expenditure by them.Agrawal said that the permission letter for vehicles being used for poll duty must be prominently displayed on the wind shield of such vehicles.
