Haryana Excise and Taxation Minister Kiran Choudhry on Thursday directed the officers to ensure the inclusion of service charges in the total bill amount for the calculation of Value Added Tax (VAT).
While presiding over a review meeting of the Department at Panchkula, she said the whole matter should be examined and necessary instruction should be issued to the concerned within a period of 15 days.
She also sought detailed report about illegal vends in Palwal and directed them to take appropriate action against them.Regarding the position of Passenger and Good Taxes, Choudhry asked the officials to conduct a survey about commercial vehicles which pass by from their respective areas in a month. She also directed to collect data about inflow and outflow of vehicles like cars of an agency or dealer.
She also asked to conduct joint inspection with the officers of State Agricultural Marketing Board so that any possibility of tax evasion could be averted. The Minister also asked officials to prepare action plan and a detail report for the mining which is to be started in the days to come.
Choudhry has ordered suspension of Ashok Sukhija, ETO posted at Sirsa for his involvement in refund to bogus firms. She also ordered the Excise and Taxation Commissioner Anil Malik to start immediate enquiry in the case.
The Minister also ordered to constitute a six member district level committee for refund cases. She said that special enquiry should be conducted in such cases and anyone who would be involved in such cases would not be spared at any cost.
It was informed in the meeting that the Department has collected revenue of Rs16,295.37 crore up to the month of December 2013 which is 10.26 per cent more as compared to the corresponding period of last financial year.
