Ananda Patra (85), who resides with his son Tejeswar at Oscar City near the Baragada canal here, returned to his home after having gone missing for 12 hours late on Saturday.
Patra, a native of Kurala village in Nayagarh district, had left his house at 8am to have some food in a nearby shop. Finding the shop closed, the elderly man moved two kilometer farther and ate food at a shop. However, Patra, while returning, failed to trace way to home and went astray.
Being tired after walking erratically, Patra sat in front of a house near GGP Colony. Hearing his plight, former Deputy Secretary of State legislative Assembly Purnachandra Mahapatra came to his rescue and informed the Modern Police Control Room, which further contacted to the Missing Foundation.
Basing on the information given by the elderly person, Foundation chairman Sushant Sahoo contacted Kurala Sarapanch Bijan Paikaray.
later, getting information, Tejeswar, who after searching for his father at laxmisagar, Baragada, Rasulgarh, Kalpana and nearby areas, reached the spot and brought his father back to home.
