An elderly person, Sarnam Singh Jatav, was found murdered in Raheli village of Hastinapura on Tuesday. Revenge for another murder that was reported around a year ago in the village is stated to be the motive behind the killing.
A case of murder against eight people, including an 80-year-old and two minors, have been registered by the Hastinapur police. They are Kunvar Singh, Indra Bhan (80), Bhupendra, Devendra, Bhakku, Rajveer, lokendra and Koshlendra Singh.Three of the accused — Kunvar Singh, Rajveer and lokendra — have been arrested. The 80-year-old Indrabhan has not been arrested as his health condition is poor. The police are searching for the others.The Hastinapura police station in-charge, Mahesh Singh Tomar said the 17-year old boy, Rajveer Gurjar, whose murder was sought to be avenged, was killed last year in the month of July.The police had accused six persons in the case, and four of them were arrested. The police had declared a reward of `3000 on Ram Varan and `2,000 on Raghuraj Singh.The SDOP Benhat Atma Ram Sharma said that 60-year-old Sarnam Singh Jatav was shot dead on Monday night near his house.
