The East Singhbhum district has improved its performance in the class 10 examinations that were declared by Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Tuesday. East Singhbhum district fared better percentage of 73.81 per cent this year as compared to the average 73.364 per cent in 2013.
The JAC results were announced by the state human resource development minister Gitashree Oraon. She said there was an improvement of two per cent in this year’s results.Jharkhand recorded 75.30 per cent result in this year’s Matriculation examination conducted by JAC. Boys performed better with passing percentage of 77.66 while girls stayed close behind at 72.83 per cent.Giridih turned out to be the topper district with 85.84 per cent result while Hazaribagh and Ranchi turned out to be second and third respectively in terms of performance of students in the Matriculation Board Examination 2014 conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council.
Although not among the top three districts, East Singhbhum made an improvement as compared to last year’s 73.36 per cent results.A total of 85.39 per cent students of Hazaribagh passed the exams while Ranchi result was recorded at 81.18 per cent.Dr Anand Bhushan, JAC chairman, was also present on the occasion.JAC had conducted the Matriculation Board examination from 21st February last to 15th March last. Around 4.80 lakh examinees appeared in the examination.
