In the quest to make a ‘clean India’ (Swachh Bharat), the students, teachers along with the administrative staffs of Delhi Public School, Bokaro conducted the cleanliness drive in and around the school premises on Monday.
Each class was allotted different areas of the school campus where dusting, cleaning and sweeping was done. The students showed an extraordinary level of zeal and enthusiasm. They not only resolved to clean the school but also pledged to restore the greenery and beauty of the environment. They exhibited that the youth is ready to shoulder the responsibility of keeping its nation clean.
Hemlata S Mohan, Director and Principal in her message conveyed to promote the values of cleanliness health, hygiene, respect and responsibility. The school is committed in making concerted efforts to promote awareness about sanitation because we also believe that the students deserve good sanitary practices such as clean school toilets, clean surroundings, and information on hygiene to realize their potential.
The programme is in tune with the massive mass movement of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ launched by Government of India Paying homage to one of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite tenets — ‘Cleanliness is next to godliness’ — on October 2nd, 2014, the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The concept of the programme is to create a clean India.
Notably Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has urged the citizens of India to devote at least hundred hours every year, that is two hours every week towards cleanliness.
