A two-month-old deer calf was rescued near the Chandrasekharpur police station in the city and handed over to the Chandaka forest officials. According to the police, some locals informed them about a deer calf’s presence near the police station.

“We managed to catch the deer calf carefully and informed the Chandaka DFO about it,” said a police officer at the Chandrasekharpur PS. After the police informed the forest personnel about the rescued deer calf, the latter took the animal to the Chandaka forest after conducting its medical examination. Forest officials said the calf might have strayed from the Chandaka forest.
