The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company limited (CSPDCl) has initiated stern action against officials and contractors accused of irregularities in meter fitting and other electricity development works.
FIR has been lodged against 11 contractors for irregularities, officials said.
CSPDCl Managing Director Subodh Singh has issued directives to the officers for investigating the working of the officials and contractors involved in meter fitting and development works.
The FIR has been lodged against 7 contractors of Champa area who are accused of irregularity to the tune of Rs 1.08 crore and against 4 contractors in Jashpur for irregularity of Rs 66 lakh, said CSPDCl Executive Director (Transmission and Maintenance) HR Narvare.
He said that contractors of Champa against whom the FIR has been lodged include Ghashyam Vidhwani, Pankaj Kela, Raghvendra Jaiswal, Sunit Khadse, Amit Jaiswal and Sahara Das. Similarly, the contractor accused of irregularity in Jashpur are Vijay Kumar Panchtani, Ghanshyam Vidhwani, Pankaj Kela and Raghvendra Jaiswal.
He said that high-level investigation is going on against the people involved in irregularities in the electricity development works. A special investigation team has been constituted for investigation against the officers and employees accused of irregularities in such works.
All the division level officers have been directed to inspect the works related to electricity development in their respective areas. In case of irregularities detected, the officers should seize the documents and immediately provide information to the company headquarter about the employees or contractors involved.
CSPDCl MD Subodh Singh is seeking reports from the regional headquarters regarding works undertaken in the interest of consumers and the reports are been regularly observed.
Immediate investigation is ordered in case if any irregularity is detected, officials said.
The MD has also directed to provide the list of officers and employees who are showing lethargy in work, added Narvare.
