Bringing 223 citizen-centric services under one roof, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday asked the State Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal to prepare a blueprint to establish Unified Service Delivery Centres in the State.
“This would help in providing 223 citizen centric services to the urban as well as rural populace in an integrated manner under a single roof in a hassle-free manner within a minimum time period,” said Badal, while issuing directions during a review meeting on the status of Suwidha and Right to Service (RTS) service delivery.
Badal has asked the Chief Secretary to ensure establishment of 1,750 rural and 424 urban centres at a cost of Rs250 crore, positively within a year.
He also directed the Chief Secretary to identify sites for these centers both in rural as well as urban areas in consultation with the Departments of Rural Development and Panchayats and local Government.
Chief Minister categorically stated that these centres should not be merely ready within a year but also be made functional to provide these services in a result-
oriented manner.
