Crowd pours into Chief Minister's weekly Jandarshan

A large number of farmers, labourers, delegations and common people participated in the weekly public interaction programme of Chief Minister Raman Singh at his official residence on Thursday.

During the programme, people conveyed their demands and grievances to the Chief Minister and a number of delegations invited Chief Minister to various events. Farmers from village Kerta (Surajpur district) of Surguja Revenue Division told the Chief Minister that the State Government had established Ma Mahamaya Sugar Factory in their village, as a result of which large number of farmers in their area are taking interest in sugarcane cultivation.

The total area under sugarcane cultivation has increased significantly. But farmers are facing problems in transportation of sugarcane to the factory, due to lack of concrete roads in the area. On their request, Chief Minister instructed Collector of Surajpur district to redress their problem as soon as possible.

Group of people from village Booddhand of Bagicha block in Jashpur district led by their Sarpanch Aador lakda handed over memorandum to Chief Minister at Jandarshan and requested for construction of stop dam in their village to provide irrigation facility. They told that the proposal for construction of stop dam in the village has already been in special Gram Sabha.

Chief Minister has forwarded the memorandum to Jashpur Collector for further deliberations. Farmers from village Thakurdiya of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district conveyed their demands pertaining to widening of main canal and feeder canal, its cementing, and construction of slucegate at Adbandha irrigation pond, to Chief Minister during Jandarshan programme. The farmers handed over a memorandum regarding their demands to Chief Minister, along with the recommendation of MP Bhooshan lal Jaangde.

Farmers also demanded that the canals of Thakurdiya pond should be connected to all the ponds of Bhatgaon, so as to ensure sufficient availability of water. Chief Minister has sent their memorandum to Principal Secretary of Water Resource Department for necessary action. Group of people led by Sandeep Chandrakar from village Sirsakala of Durg District handed over a memorandum to Dr Singh requesting appointment on merit basis at the vacant posts of Sub-Engineer in PWD, Water Resource and PHE Department under reserved category (for women and ex-armymen), for which eligible candidates are not available. Chief Minister assured the applicants that their request will be considered on a serious note.

In the Jandarshan programme, Raman Singh met Rajni Joshi, wife of late Manoj Joshi-a martyr in incidence of Naxal-violence in Jeeram Ghati that had taken place on May 25 last year. late Manoj Joshi was a private vehicle owner and professional driver. Rajni Joshi requested Chief Minister for appointment on compassionate grounds in government services. Singh assured her that her application will be considered seriously. Additional Director General of Police has been instructed to redress Rajni Joshi’s application as soon as possible.

A delegation of students from Dental College of Rajnandgaon requested Chief Minister to provide free laptops to them under Chhattisgarh Yuva Soochna Kranti Yojana. Chief Minister assured them of taking necessary actions in this regard. Delegation of people from village Keshla of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district led by Sarpanch Gaurishankar Kalar handed over memorandum to Chief Minister and demanded construction of cement concrete road in their village. 15 villagers from Sonbarsa village of Kawardha block Kabeerdham district submitted individual applications and requested Chief Minister for allotment of houses under Indira Aawas Yojana.

Delegation of Chhattigsgarh Health Workers Association met Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh at Jandarshan and congratulated Dr Singh for his third term. The delegation handed over a memorandum and requested Chief Minister for redressal of the ambiguities in salary of female health workers. Dr Singh patiently heard the grievances of the people at Jandarshan and assured them of speedy redressal of their applications.
