Contractor held for supplying explosives to Maoists

Police on Thursday arrested a contractor on charge that he was supplying explosives to the Maoists. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Kalimela police arrested Samarendra Bisoi alias Tinku (28) and seized explosives from his possession. The accused, during interrogation, confessed to his crime, Malkangiri SP Akhileswar Singh told mediapersons. Bisoi was arrested after fifteen gelatine sticks and other explosives were found at his construction site at Marigata village. He admitted that he had supplied explosives to the Maoists five times in the past. The latest explosives were found from a site where he is building a school hostel, police sources said.
