Raipur Congress district president Vikash Upadhyay on Sunday flagged off three vehicles to spread the message about the Congress party’s plan to ‘lay seige’ to the Chief Minister Raman Singh’s official residence on July 1 for his alleged failure on all fronts.
“The vehicles were flagged off to seek people’s support for making the protest a success” said Upadhyay.The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) has decided to ‘gherao’ the CM’s residence over the power tariff hike, not providing minimum support price of Rs2100 to the farmers, rejection of ration cards and damage of paddy worth Rs6 crore .
Congress State Unit President Bhupesh Baghel held discussions with senior party leaders and issued directives to all district units to join in protest with hundreds of their supporters to highlight the ‘failure’ of Raman Singh Government.The senior leaders suggested that the party should ensure that all its elected representatives, former elected representatives and officials from block, districts to the State participate in the protest.
