Film actors Sritam Das and Pinky Pradhan joined the BJP on Wednesday. Party’s State president KV Singh Deo welcomed the duo to the party in the presence of other party leaders.
The cine stars said they got inspired by BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and the values of the party. “Most of the youths of the country want to see Modi as the Prime Minister in whom they find the caliber to solve problems like unemployment, corruption, deteriorating law and order situation and violence against women,” Sritam said.
Actress Pinky said she chose BJP after tallying merits of the major political parties. “If I get a chance from BJP to work for the development of the State, I’ll be happy,” she said after joining the party.
Similarly, SUCI State secretary and Union Bank of India Employees’ Union president Bhaskar Jena along with former Income Tax Commissioner Bidhubhusan Mohanty also joined the BJP with the cine stars.
