Chouhan calls Congress manifesto pack of lies to lure voters

Monday, 31 March 2014 | SR | Bhopal

Aiming for victory in the lok Sabha elections, the Congress manifesto is a pack of lies wrapped in a beautiful manner to lure the voters said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and office bearers of Shahdol parliamentary constituency on Sunday.

Chouhan alleged that for the past 10 years the inflation has reached record heights but with the advent of the lok Sabha elections, the Congress took opposite stance and promised to provide relief to the poor in the manifesto. He said the citizens have distracted from the tall claims and hollow promises made by the Congress. For around 6 decades, the Congress failed to improve situation and have only exploited them emotionally. The chief minister said on the other side BJP is committed towards development and good government and has proved that only BJP could provide a direction to the country. He said in the past 10 years during the BJP rein the State has achieved 12 percent of growth rate and agriculture grew by 18 percent. The Congress is not being able to digest the three consecutive defeats in the State assembly and has turned hostile against the farmers of the State by denying the compensation for calamity-hit farmers, he added. He appealed to the voters of the Shahdol parliamentary constituency to vote for BJP candidate Dalpat Singh Paraste for making a strong and stable Government in the leadership of Narendra Modi. He said farmers of the State have gained financial stability due to the effort of the State Government which has endorsed Green Revolution for their benefit and made the agriculture a profitable business. A special bonus of Rs150 per quintal would be provided over minimum support price by the State Government which would help in improving the financial condition of the farmers and the natural calamity stricken farmers would be provided every possible help, Chouhan said. Praising his Government, CM Chouhan told that around 15 lakh houses would be built for the poor.
