Case lodged against Ramdev aide Krishna

In connection with the unauthorised landing of helicopter in the campus of Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, in 2012 by Acharya Bal Krishna, close aide of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, a case under section 447 of IPC was lodged against Bal Krishna on Tuesday, said Kankhal Police Station in-charge sub-inspector Bhawna Kainthura while talking to The Pioneer on Wednesday.

Sources said that a petitioner had sought details from the State Information Commission under the Right To Information Act about action taken by the police against Bal Krishna for unauthorised landing of a helicopter at helipad in the university campus.  Sub-inspector Kainthura said that on June 26, 2012, Bal Krishna had landed in a helicopter at Gurukul Kangri helipad without seeking permission from the then city magistrate. This was revealed when then Kankhal police station inspector had sought details as to whether Bal Krishna had sought permission from the office of City Magistrate.

Sources revealed that the RTI applicant had also disclosed that regarding this case, the state government had also directed the police to lodge an FIR against Bal Krishna.The information commission had sought details from the Kankhal police station about this case and hearing was set on Wednesday.  Before appearing in the commission, a case under section 447 of IPC was registered against Bal Krishna in the Kankhal Police Station on Tuesday. In its reply to the commission regarding this case, Kankhal police stated that an FIR was lodged against Bal Krishna under section 447 of IPC on Tuesday.
