The North Odisha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCi) in association with Team Odisha and the State Government organised a three-day national exhibition -cum- conference on plastics and polymers on November 28.
District Collector Sanatan Mallick and SBI Chief General Manager Krishna Mohan Trivedi inaugurated it.
Organised for the first time in the district, the exhibition was meant to create a platform for corporates, policymakers, business partners and technology providers to come together and discuss the key issues and challenges pertaining to the polymer sector in the country.
Besides, its purpose was to create a platform for prospective buyer and sellers to meet through business networking and showcase Odisha, especially Baleswar and the Paradip Plastic Park for investment before the global community.
Raw material suppliers, machine manufacturers and technology providers participated as exhibitors from West Bengal, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, New Delhi, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh and within the State to showcase their products and improve their brand value.
local industries, processors and buyers of finished goods, additives and chemical manufacturers, machinery manufacturers, potential entrepreneurs, bankers, institutions and consultants joined to showcase their products and services in the fair and took part in business networking.
The venue of the fair, Baleswar International Expo Centre (BIEX), is a new infrastructure built with world class facility for holding trade fairs, exhibitions and conventions at Baleswar.
In association with the DIC, Baleswar, the NOCCi also organised a three-day cottage industry exposition in the same venue to provide an opportunity to the local cottage industries, artisans, craftsmen and SHGs in different categories.
