Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Brijmohan Agrawal on Thursday urged the youths to take a leaf from the life of great saint Swami Vivekananda’s life and practice positive thinking.
Vivekananda lived only for 39 years but the whole world continues to remember him even 150 years after his death, Agrawal said while speaking at the annual function of Durga College here. Appealing to the students gathered at the function, he urged them to build self confidence and develop high esteem and pointed out that the traditional Indian culture provided solutions to all the problems.
He said some young students often developed depression when they thought about their future but such students needed to have patient. It is essential for them to dream high but at the same time they should not forget that they needed to put it equal efforts to achieve the goal. Agrawal said it was not always necessary to excel on the basis of merit, one needed to have practical experiences too which is available in all students who were considered ordinary.
The Minister also inaugurated a new eco system in the college which had been built at a cost of Rs 10 lakh sanctioned by him. He also announced to sanction another Rs 10 lakh for its expansion of the project. The school authorities felicitated Agrawal with a shawl and presenting him a sri-phala. It may be mentioned that Agrawal himself was not only a student of the college he also worked as the college’s student union president.
College Principal SS Khanuja, former mayor Sunil Soni, Salim Raj and Ajay Sharma were among others who were present at the function.
