Top state BJP leaders, along with party cadres, would participate in the ‘run for unity’ on Friday on Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary across the state with Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati taking part in the race in state capital.
Party spokesman Chandra Mohan said that besides Uma Bharati, party’s state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai, legislator from lucknow (east) Ashutosh Tandon and party’s state general secretary Virendra Tiwari will take part in the Run for Unity in lucknow.
He said other senior party leaders like Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra will take part in the unity run in Deoria, Rail Minister Manoj Sinha in Ghazipur, Minister of state for Agriculture Sanjeev Baliyan in Muzaffarnagar, Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur and former state president Om Pakash Singh in Varanasi .
“Besides, other senior leaders of the state and legislators will take part in the Unity Run across the state,” he said in a statement issued here on Friday.
Media in-charge BJP city Avdesh Gupta said that the run will start from Shahid Samarak at 7 in the morning and will culminate at Sardar Patel’s statue in Hazratganj.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is coming to lucknow, his parliamentary constituency on Friday night. He will attend a function in a school on Saturday and will return the same evening to New Delhi, BJP spokesman said.
