Under the seven-day Bihar Mahotsav, the Bhopalites took pleasure of folk and traditional music of Bihar.
Here on Thursday, a classical musical programme was organised at Antarang Hall. Classical vocalists Shivangi Singh and Manoranjan Ojha gave spontaneous performance before the audience.
The programme began with the folk and traditional singing by Shivangi Singh. She began her performance with Ganga Geet, ‘Darshan Deho’. As she began singing, the audience took the pleasure of traditional music. Notably, Shivangi is an 11 year old girl who sang the folk music so beautifully, that it enchanted the audience present at Antarang Hall.
Having a marvelous and a melodious voice, Shivangi has the innocence in her expressions and even in her presentation. She further, followed her performance with Devi Geet Nimiya Ke Daal Maiya, Purvi Jhoomar.
The Purvi Jhoomar was a hilarious and the fun loving performance as it depicted the relationship between mother in law and daughter-in-law. The sweet and sour relationship between both was beautifully expressed by Shivangi in the performance.
Shivangi then performed Jatsar Song Beetak Baate Aaj Pahirya. This is a very old composition by a renowned folk writer and composer Bikhari Thakur which was spectaculary performed by Shivangi.
She then performed sinple Jhoomar Kusum Rang Chunari Ranga De Pivaiya. She wrapped up her performance with Chhat Song.
later the programme was followed with the performance of Manoranjan Ojha. A renowned and a veteran folk singer, Manoranjan Ojha with his experience and impressive voice performed various folk and traditional songs during the programme.
It was a mass treat for the art and music lovers of
the city.
